Welcome to December!

2018 is coming to a close quickly. It's been a wild ride for most of us. It's currently time to be looking for insurance for 2019 and BIA is the place to go with.

At BIA, I am here to help you, first and foremost. There is no shortage of insurance and there is always a way to find competitive quotes.

As for winter, are you prepared for snow, for ice, and for winter storms?

It's Fall!

Good morning folks! It's finally October, which means it's fall and cool weather! I'm not sure about you, but I sure am excited for summer to be over.

With fall, comes leaves and other tree products falling to the ground. Be mindful! These tree products are extremely flamable. Here's a story about our first hand knowledge and experience:

One time, Debbie was driving her little four door sedan with Samantha in her car seat when it caught on fire! A pine needle was laying on the hood where the vent holes are for the engine. Somehow, the pine needle worked itself so some of it was actually in the engine and it caught on fire immediately. Both Debbie and Samantha are fine and the car was repaired, but it was a very scary situation! Always remove anything from on top of your hood!

I'm telling you this story so that you can learn from us. Be sure your insurance policies cover fire. Call me to review your policies with you and we can ensure that you are covered!

Hurricane Florence

Well... it looks like Hurricane Florence will hit and make an impact of the East Coast of the United States...

Are you prepared? Have you review your home, health, and life insurance in the event something tragic happens? Do you know where your plans are?

Be sure to have your insurance policy plans and ID ready. Have a plan. Follow the advice from the National Weather Service and your local meterologists.

BIA hopes that you and your family are safe.

College Students

Samantha officially entered her last year of college classes for her Bachelor's Degree today. She will have another year as well, in which she will earn her Master's degree. The last tuition payment will be a milestone for all of us.

I decided to make a post for all the college students, undergrad and graduate, as well as any high school students that are planning ahead. Beyond the usual insurances of health and life, college students need to start thinking about a lot about the future.
  • Subsection of Home Insurance or Renter's Insurance - to protect your belongings in a dorm room or apartment against theft
  • Savings - to start making a game plan to repay any debt, including car payments and studnet loans
  • Investment - the earlier you plan for retirement, the more money you will have
  • Health and Life Insurane - if you are no longer on a plan with your parents or guardians

Good luck to everyone starting a new school year, rather it be college or public schools! BIA is rooting for you to excell in your academics!

Supporting Our High School

It's the middle of August and it certainly has been a busy one already! Last Thursday, my daughter, Samantha, and I enjoyed watching the Clover Hill Football team take on Powhatan High School, a neighboring county in a scrimmage. We are both looking forward to attending many of the games and you can certainly come up and talk to us!

Here's a picture of the team from the Scrimmage Game. It's a mighty fine looking bunch of guys that can go a long way!

Both Samantha and I graduated from Clover Hill with the classes of 1979 and 2015, and we are proud Cavialers! Here's a picture of us at the 2017 Clover Hill Hall of Fame Banquet, where my 1978 Baseball Team was inducted. I had been previously inducted as an individual baseball and football player in 2005.
